Parking Chaos Sparks Supermarket Locker Showdown

A showdown is set over a change that has been made at a supermarket used by thousands of people in Bracknell.

A showdown is brewing over changes made at a Bracknell supermarket.

Concerns have been raised about the new postal lockers next to the Aldi at Birch Hill Shopping Centre, as they’re causing parking issues.

The InPost Parcel lockers, which contain 80 individual lockers, were installed on Liscombe street in April.

The Bracknell Town Council's planning committee has objected to their placement, highlighting that they sit on double yellow lines, leading to illegal parking by the public and delivery drivers.

Furthermore, councillors are worried about the lockers being positioned beneath flats, which house families and elderly residents.

They are also unhappy that the plan was submitted retroactively after the lockers were already installed.

A decision on the future of the locker box will be made by Bracknell Forest Council’s planning committee on Wednesday, November 5.

Councillor Tricia Brown (Labour, Priestwood and Garth), chairwoman of the committee, has called for the councillors to review the application.

Planning officer Kevin Lloyd Jones has recommended that the plan be approved.
