New Cafe Opens with Future Alcohol Menu

Esquires Coffee has opened at Green Park Village in Reading, taking over the closed Triple Two Coffee cafe.

The branch offers breakfast and lunch menus alongside coffee, teas and matcha. The company successfully applied to sell alcohol from 7am to 10pm each day; the alcohol licence was approved after a statutory consultation ended last December with no objections. However, alcoholic drinks were not available when the cafe was visited on Monday, January 26, and are understood to be added soon.

The Esquires Coffee website says alcohol is available at selected locations, serving cocktails, beers and wines for evening dining or socialising. That includes coffee-based cocktails such as Espresso Martinis and Irish Coffee.

The cafe sits on the ground floor of a five-storey apartment block next to Green Park Village Primary School in Flagstaff Road. Drivers can use three visitor spaces in a car park accessed from Maine Street and Champlain Street.

There are no late-night venues in the area. A Tesco Express opened near Green Park train station in summer 2023 and is open from 7am to 10pm. Esquire Coffee has nearly 100 locations, with other cafes in Newbury, Crowthorne and Windsor. Esquires Coffee has been contacted for more information.
