Bennet Road Closure Disrupts Key Access Routes

A key route that provides access to the football stadium, a retail park and more in Reading will be closed for nearly two months for water works.

A major route to Reading's football stadium, retail park, and more is set for a nearly two-month closure due to water works.

Bennet Road in Whitley links the B3031 Basingstoke Road and the A33, providing access for drivers heading to Green Park, the Select Car Leasing Stadium, and Reading Gate Retail Park.

Currently, drivers cannot enter Bennet Road at its junction with the A33.

The closure will last until 8pm on Sunday, December 14, following the start of work on Monday, October 18—totaling just over a month.

Access to businesses on Bennet Road remains available via Basingstoke Road.

Local occupants include Reading Borough Council's vehicle depot, Stratsone Land Rover, and The Church of Pentecost UK.

Drivers can follow a diversion through Basingstoke Road, Imperial Way, and the A33.

This closure is implemented by Thames Water with council approval.
