Crowthorne has a bright new hand-drawn walking map, unveiled at the station on Friday 5 June. A large version is installed at Crowthorne Station and 2,500 leaflets will be distributed along the railway.
The map, illustrated by local artist Vic Delaney, highlights green spaces and wildlife and encourages people to arrive by train, then explore the village on foot or by bike - no car needed.
Ms Delaney said: "There are plenty of footpaths throughout Crowthorne and the surrounding area," noting it is even possible to walk from Wokingham to Crowthorne through woodland.
Parish council chair Peter Wood said: "Residents of Crowthorne are surrounded by open spaces and nature reserves where they can relax, exercise and enjoy nature."
The map was produced in partnership with the South East Community Rail Partnership and funded by Great Western Railway. It's designed to get locals and visitors rediscovering Crowthorne's landscapes and hidden spots, one step at a time.
Councillor Tina McKenzie-Boyle added: "Who knew there's a 'secret' track near Wellingtonia Roundabout?"
